Feedback shows overwhelming approval for draft London Paramount proposals
With a dozen events held across two weeks, the London Paramount Entertainment Resort tour around Kent (and Essex) finally revealed their draft masterplan along with a series of exciting images showcasing how the resort might look.
Over 2,000 people attended the second stage of public consultation events that took place in November 2014. Attendees were invited to complete a feedback form responding to questions on the draft masterplan, emerging transport proposals and the approach taken in relation to the ecology and environment of the Swanscombe Peninsula
Overall, 786 feedback forms were completed with:
- 82% of respondents indicating that they approve of the draft masterplan for the Resort;
- 63% of respondents approving of the emerging transport proposals; and
- 75% of respondents stated that they approve of the plans to protect the local ecology and environment.
The results also showed that the top five attractions respondents are most interested in visiting are the world class theme park (61%), restaurants and bars (51%), cinema and comedy venue (45%), theatre (44%) and the water park (41%).
A full report detailing the feedback will shortly be available on the project website www.londonparamount.info
Fenlon Dunphy, on behalf of London Paramount, said:
“To receive such positive feedback at this stage in the design process is hugely encouraging and demonstrates the real enthusiasm people are showing. While a majority approve of the draft masterplan, emerging transport proposals and plans to protect the local ecology and environment we know there is much more to discuss in the next several months prior to the submission of our planning application.”
The next stage of public consultation events will be a series of workshop events in spring 2015. These workshops will provide an opportunity for community members, stakeholders and industry specialists to come together to discuss and debate a number of different topics.
